Christmas 2001:

This poem is one of many that I've written to summarize this year.
We've all gone through trauma and heartache
And felt pain and shed tears.
Through thick and thin we've learned the most,
That our troubled hearts can face any ghost.
We've learned the true order of things,
And found out what hate really brings.
Our love has been thicker than blood
And stronger than time.
We know that the recent events have had no reason or rhyme.
Those planes that crashed in the sky
Has shown us that not everything has the answer as to why.
We've discovered that our enemies have been here all along
And that what they thought was right
Turned out to be our wrong.
Even though the year to come will probably bring us to our knees,
We can at least be thankful for our wonderful friends and families.

When you let me go, you'll wish you hadn't done so:

I'll be the tears you shed.
I'll be the pounding in your head.
I'll be in all the words you hear.
I'll be the presence you feel near.
I'll be the pain in your heart.
I'll be the feeling that pulls you apart.
I'll be your need to die.
I'll be your every reason why.

I don't love you:

He can be black. He can be white.
He can be a dreamer. He can be an achiever.
It doesn't matter just as long as he loves only me.
That man that I love, That man of my dreams
Is the man you aren't.
Together our love is strong.
It's as boundless as the sea.
Everything we can accomplish
Is everything we dare to dream.
I can fly as high as the sky,
But I can't do it if you are the only man within my sight.
I need to know, and I need to love.
I need something that is real.
I need something you haven't shown.
So, away from you is where I'm going.
To someone else is where I need to be.
I'm sorry If I've hurt you,
But you know your love isn't for me.
